Indonesia's Independent and Active Foreign Policy in the Jokowi Era: How Independent? How Active?
Dalam pidato kenegaraan pertama Presiden Joko Widodo, beliau memamparkan pandangannya mengenai Poros Maritim Dunia, sebuah konsep strategis yang diharapkan menjadi dasar kebijakan politik luar negeri Indonesia. Selanjutnya di tahun 2019, Indonesia menginisiasi sebuah dokumen strategis mengenai Indo-Pasifik yang telah diadopsi oleh para pemimpin negara ASEAN menjadi 'ASEAN Outlook on Indo-Pacific' (AOIP). Dalam dua tahun terakhir, kebijakan luar negeri Indonesia terfokus pada kepemimpinan Indonesia dalam G20, ASEAN dan MIKTA.
Tidak diragukan lagi bahwa dalam sembilan tahun kepemimpinan Presiden Jokowi, kebijakan luar negeri Indonesia dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan yang berbeda dibandingkan para pendahulunya namun di saat yang sama, Indonesia juga didukung oleh berbagai platform yang dapat memperkuat pengaruh Indonesia di tingkat global sehingga dapat mencapai kepentingan nasionalnya. Sesi panel ini akan melihat kembali, merefleksikan dan mengevaluasi kebijakan luar negeri Indonesia sembilan tahun terakhir. Diskusi ini akan mengungkap hingga sejauh apa kebijakan luar negeri Indonesia masih memegang teguh prinsip bebas dan aktif.
In President Joko Widodo's first speech as president in 2014, he shared his worldview of a Global Maritime Fulcrum (GMF), a concept that would be the basis of Indonesia's foreign policy grand strategy. Later in 2019, Indonesia pushed for a regional outlook on the Indo-Pacific, which ASEAN leaders subsequently adopted as the ASEAN Outlook on Indo-Pacific (AOIP). In the past two years, Indonesian foreign policy has been focused on three chairmanships of the G20, ASEAN and MIKTA.
There is no question that during the past nine years of Jokowi's leadership, the Indonesian strategic environment has been both challenging and full of opportunities. President Jokowi's foreign policy is carried out with a different approach from that of his predecessor and is equipped with various platforms that can enhance its influence and thereby serve the national interest. The panel in this session aims to look back, reflect and evaluate Indonesia’s foreign policy in the past nine years. The discussion will reveal the extent to which Indonesia has maintained and upheld the principle of ‘Independent and Active Foreign Policy’ during Jokowi’s presidency.
